‘ATEM’ was composed for dancer/choreographer Suki John, who created modern dance choreography to the music. The piece is set in four sections, each with a different type of beat and electronic sounds. The vocal audio was created by recording myself singing primarily nonsense syllables in harmony. As the music builds, it eventually rises to a dissonant crescendo in the fourth section, and then falls to a more peaceful minimalist ending.
